Violation of a Restraining / Protective Order

I was charged with two counts of Penal Code Section 273.6 (Violation of a Protective Order) when I texted the mother of my child despite the existence of a ‘No Contact’ order. I was the subject of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order which limited me to only “peaceful Contact” with my former wife; later, I was charged with violating that protective order under Penal Code Section 273.6(a) when I sent angry text messages which contained obscenity to her.
