Not a Halloween Prank
Police are investigating the cause of death of a woman whose body was found in a car. The vehicle was approached by officers after a call was received regarding an illegally parked car. Officers could see a leg under piles of clothes in the passenger seat. After breaking the window they discovered the body in a very advanced state of decomposition. The driver of the car stated that she had met the woman in the park and they become friends. The driver let the woman sleep in her car, and found her dead one morning. She did not contact police because she was afraid. The body was left in the passenger seat, and she got a box of baking soda to help with the smell. An autopsy revealed no signs of foul play and according to the driver the body had been in the car since December. The conditions in the vehicle had preserved the body and left it in a mummified state.
This is an ongoing story and late Monday, October 25, 2010, police identified the corpse as Signe Margit of Laguna Hills, Orange County, California.
