Driving on a Suspended License

I was being investigated for Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) for getting in an altercation with my girlfriend. I left before the police could arrest me. I also had a three year old WARRANT for driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a). I was charged with two different cases at the same time. I was charged with driving on a suspended license (Vehicle Code Section 14601.2). My license was suspended because of two previous drunk driving convictions. I was looking at a minimum of 10 days in Jail for this offense. I was charged with Driving on a Suspended License because of a [previous] drunk driving case under vehicle code section 14601.2. Mr. Bruzzo counseled me to get my license. I was able to get a license and then Mr. Bruzzo went to court and negotiated with the District Attorney. If I had pled to the suspended license charge (Vehicle Code Section 14601.2) I would have had two more points on my driving record [limit is 4 points in 12 months] and 10 days jail. However, Mr. Bruzzo was able to convince the District Attorney to Dismiss the Driving on a Suspended License charge (Vehicle Code Section 14601.2) and instead I pled to a violation of section 12500 of the vehicle code (Driving without a valid license). This charge does not carry any points and it carries no jail time. I was fearful that more points on my record would cause my license to be suspended again so this was a VERY GOOD RESULT! I was charged with Vehicle Code section 20002(a) [Hit and Run] and Vehicle Code Section 14601.2(a) [Driving on a Suspended License]. These charges arose when I hit another vehicle, caused damage and fled the scene without contacting the police or the owner of the vehicle. I was charged with Health and Safety Code Section 11377(a) (Possession of a controlled substance HS 11377(a)) a felony which carries a maximum of 3 years in prison. I had previous convictions for the same charge and I had similar charges pending. I was also charged with driving on a suspended license (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1 – VC 14601.1) and possession of paraphernalia (Health and Safety Code Section 11364 – HS 11364(a)) as misdemeanors. I was charged with Driving under the Influence and Driving on a Suspended License under Vehicle Code Sections 23152(a) and 14601.1(a) out of Orange County Superior Court.
