Three-Year-Old Child Forgotten in Car for Two Days

Police searched for a missing 3 year old boy in Pasadena after his mother reported him missing on Sunday morning. The parents had been at a wedding with their son. During the party the boy’s father took the boy and left. After the mother did not hear from them after a few hours she contacted police. The 23 year old father was found and arrested for suspicion of public intoxication. Once he was no longer under the influence Kurihara explained that he did not know where his son was. Finally Sunday night, the little boy was found in his father’s car, buckled into his car seat. He was taken to a near-by hospital and released to child protective services. The boy was dehydrated but otherwise unharmed. He was found by a Pasadena resident who went looking for the child after receiving a reverse 9-1-1 call. See Penal Code Section 273a (a), 273a (b).
